Tigdas-Hangin

Last nignt, when Bea was already sleeping, I noticed this tiny red spots on her cheeks. I checked her body and there! May red spot din. What the hell?!? Ano 'to??? (Shame! Hindi pwede 'to!!! Malapit na birthday ni Bea!!! Oh no! Oh no!!!)

I remember I gave strawberries to Bea that night. Pasalubong ni Mama galing Baguio. Favorite niya yun kaya mega kain sya. Sa isip ko, Shame! Baka nagka-allergy si Bea sa strawberry! Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!

Tapos this morning, I woke up Mama, showed her the spots. Di nya din alam kung ano yun... Sabi ko, "Baka na-allergy sa Strawberries na uwi mo!" Sabi ni Mama hindi naman daw kasi kumakain naman sya nun dati hindi naman nagka-ganito. So yun, pumunta na lang kami sa Center para ipacheck-up si Bea. Pagdating namin dun, the nurse checked her. Eto sabi nya:

Nurse: Tigdas-hangin yan, hindi yung totoong Tigdas... And I was like, "Ano daw?!? What's the difference?" Hindi ko na tinanong baka sabihin tanga ako. Haha! Ginoogle ko na lang pag uwi...

What is tigdas hangin?

Tigdas hangin is roseola infantum, viral rash. The condition starts as high grade fever for three to five days, with or without cough or colds; then after 12 to 24 hours from the time the fever disappears, tiny red rashes appear on the trunk of the child. Paracetamol and a lot of fluids are necessary to address the fever. No treatment is necessary for tigdas hangin or roseola infantum since it is due to a viral cause and is self-limited (it will just run its course). There are no straightforward measures to prevent the particular condition but proper hygiene and a healthy diet consisting of fruits and vegetables are necessary to prevent illness.

Okay... Ayun naman pala... Gagaling naman pala kagad eh... Ako na! Ako na praning! Haha! Painumin lang daw ng paracetamol pag may lagnat. Okay, noted!

Pain, pain go away

I feel like I haven't blog for ages! It's been a while... I've been soooo busy preparing for Bea's birthday kasi. One month na lang and madami pa akong kailangan tapusin like:

-Bea's birthday outfits (an ocean-inspired tutu skirt and a flower-filled tutu dress) all handmade! nasira kasi ung sewing machine namin. Sana lang maganda kalabasan... *fingers crossed*
-Tarpaulin layout
-Guestbook layout
-Standee -gusto ko sana gumawa nito. Sana kayanin ng powers ko.

I know madami pa akong kailangan tapusin but here's the problem, I'M IN PAIN!!! Why? May sugat kasi nippolletes ko! Ang sakit-sakit sobra... Huhuhu!

As you know, I've been breastfeeding Bea ever since pinanganak ko sya. When she haven't had a tooth yet, nangangagat sya pero keber lang ako. Nagsugat na din 'to dati pero hindi naman ganong kasakit. But now that she have 5 teeth already. Ayun, nangigil, mega kagat sya with matching hila pa without letting go of my nipple. Hai... Baka sabihin nyo ang OA ko pero hindi, masakit talaga kahit maliit lang yung sugat.

Alam nyo ung kasabihang, "Ang sakit ng kalingkingan ay sakit ng buong katawan?" Eto yun eh! Itong-ito yun!!! Pag dumedede sya sakin, grabe, feeling ko na-dre-drain lahat ng lakas ko. Nakakapanghina. Nanlulupaypay ako. Nung nabaril ako, halos no reaction ako. Nung nanganak ako kay Bea, after ko sya ilabas, okay na. Pero ito talaga, iba! I can't explain how this feels.

 I can't stop breastfeeding naman kasi Bea can't sleep pag hindi ko sya pinadedede. At nakakaawa naman kung awatin ko sya agad eh baby pa sya. She can't breastfeed on my other boob naman because inverted nipple ko dun. Haii... Sana lang gumaling na 'to kagad.

Any advice? Baka may pwede akong ipahid dito para gumaling agad.

The Fugitive Baby

One of the things Bea likes to do nowadays is to make takas from us and play outside.  Bea once took a dive from our bed! Good thing she landed the table next to it and not on the floor. Ayun, ngalngal katakot-takot. But still, I thank God hindi sya sa floor lumanding at kung hindi, baka pumutok ulo nya. We decided to removed our bed frame and put the mattress on the floor. And in order to keep her in, we asked our handyman, Kuya Allan, to make this safety gate. Kuya Allan purposely made the safety gate quite tall because he knows how likot Bea can be. Baka daw akyatin lang kung maliit lang ung harang. 

Problems solved!

"Mommy, ano 'to? Bakit nyo ko kinulong dito?"

Yeah right! That's until Bea discovered how to remove the locks and open the gate. Ayun, bukas-sara-bukas-sara ng walang katapusan hanggang sa naipit nya ung kamay nya. She stopped then. Nagtanda na ata.

Tapos, eto na naman.

Mommy: Baby! Anung ginagawa mo ha?!?

Bea: Wala po Mommy...

LET ME OUT!!! HUHUHU!!! >:'(

 She does this when she wants to play on the floor. Eh ayaw ko nga syang palaruin sa labas kasi baka madapa, tiles yun eh. Nangudngod na kaya yan sa kalikutan.

And of course, when Mama (my mother) is there, she's making takas too.

Bea: Mama, get me here. Rescue me! RESCUE ME!!!

Hay naku, magkakampi kasi yan dalawang yan. Haha! Grandparents are such spoilers. :P

Mommy: Nagpapa-rescue ka na naman kay Mama ha?

Bea: Hehe! *big smile*

Oh God! Sometimes this kid is driving me nuts sa sobrang kalikutan nya. (Lord, give me lots of patience, please! LOL!)

Bea's Birthday Preparation: DIY Balloon

I've been reading how to make DIY balloons on Smart Parenting forum a few weeks now. Gusto ko kasi makatipid at tsaka di ko afford na magpa-venue set-up sa mga party planners noh. Ano 'ko, mayaman?!? Haha! And besides, kaya ko naman siguro gumawa ng balloons. Ako pa? Kakayanin ko yan! Plus, I'm on limited budget so, no choice ka Gen! Ikaw ang may gustong magparty, tandaan mo yan! LOL!


Gets ko na kung pano gumawa ng pillars at cake arch, at nakapag-practice na din ako using a few balloons Mama bought sa tabi-tabi. Di ko na pinicturan kasi di maganda color combination. Hek!

But this, I want to show you. Proud lang ako mga teh! Haha!

These are the things you'll need.
-3 pieces 260Q (or 160Q if you want it to be smaller) 1 for the tail part, 1 for the hair, and 1 for the body
-1 piece scrap ballon (meaning tira-tira or napagputulan na) for the bra :P ng mermaid.
-a hand or electric pump, pwede din ihip-ihip na lang kung kaya ng powers nyo

Well, I can't explain how to do it. Watch it na lang here. Mr. Fudge is a great instructor. Naintindihan ko naman ung mga pinagsasabi nya. Kaya nga ko nakagawa nyan eh. Go ahead, try it for yourselves. Madali lang! :)

Unfortnately, my second mermaid popped. Pagkapicture ko, ayun, pumutok. Mainit nga pala ung laptop. Hek! Sayang effort.

Bea's Birthday Preparation: Theme

I want to have an Under the Sea theme for Bea's 1st Birthday. Gusto ko kasi mga mermaids, but not specifically si Ariel, basta mermaids lang. Although it would be just a simple house party, gusto ko pa din may theme para cohesive. Hehehe... I realized that this is the only time na ako lang ang may "say" sa theme niya. I mean, next year, when she turns two, syempre may favorites na yan baka hindi ko na maipilit ung gusto ko noh. Ngayon pa nga lang eh may nalalaman na yang palo at galit-galitan when she doesn't get her way eh. Haha!

I decided to go for the colors aqua blue and lime green. I added a little lavender to lighten it up. If you know me personally, you'd know that these are my favorite colors. Hehehe. I don't like "girly" colors kasi. Eewww ako jan. 

So there... Lumilipad isip ko ngayon eh, sakit kasi ulo ko. Grabe kasi init ngayon noh?

The Constipated Baby

(Warning: This post contains "eww" pictures. If you don't have the stomach for it, please leave now.)

Bea was not in her usual self awhile ago. She keeps on crying and crying. Then she removed her diaper. Mama tried to put it back, pero ayaw talaga. Tinatanggal talaga nya tapos umiyak ulit. Sabi ni Mama, baka daw masakit yung tiyan nya. Nagpoopoo kasi siya kanina pero parang poop lang ng kambing, bilog na maliit, dry pa. She told me to buy suppository. Ayun, umalis ako kahit gabi na, buti na lang meron sa botika ng bayan. A mommy's got to do, what a mommy's got to do!

Here it is! My baby's saver for the day.

I inserted it in her rectum, nilagyan ko ng konting baby oil para madaling mapasok. Grabe iyak ng bida. I put her diaper on because she'll gonna poop alot for sure.

Aww... Wawa Baby ko... It must have hurt alot! :'( 

Pinadede ko muna siya so she'll stop crying. While I was nursing her, I can feel her pushing urges. Nahihirapan nga talaga siguro pumupoo 'to. Then after a few minutes, wala pa sigurong five minutes yun, eto na!

Mega poop! :S

Grabe ang baho! Sorry baby! Hehe... Pinupoo din nya ung suppository. Yung iba kasi nadidissolve eh. Ayun, hinugasan namin pwet nya sa dami ng poopoo. After that, she's back to her usual makulit self again, parang walang nangyari. Ang gaan na siguro ng feeling nya.

Wee!!! Masaya na ulit sya... :D

Mommy, I'm okay na. Put my diaper back on.  :)

I dressed her in her pajamas, gave her milk, then put her favorite Sesame Street video on TV. Ayun, nagclaclap pa habang nanunuod. Ang saya-saya na nya. Oye! Maya-maya, tinatawag na ko, inaanok na, dede na daw sya (Bea can't sleep kasi pag hindi sya dumedede sakin). She's sound asleep now. Thank God!

Hope this constipation thing don't ever happen again.

Okay matulog na daw ako. Pinatayan na ako ng batang yagit (my youngest brother) ng internet. Good night!

Bea's Birthday Preparation: Lootbags and Prizes

As a part of Bea's birthday preparation, I decided to go to DIVISORIA, to buy game prizes and lootbag contents, last Friday.

(Well, nagpunta na kami dati sa Divi kasama ang bida, pero pagdating dun, nagwala na! Naglikot ng naglikot, kaya wala kaming ganong nabili. So this time, iniwan ko na lang si Bea kay Mama at ako, naglamyerda! *wink*)

Grabe! Nakakaloka mamili!!! Everywhere I look, there's something I want to buy. Napapasmile nga ko eh... Hahahaha!!! Kung may 5K akong dala, baka maubos ko yun. Kaso P1,400 lang dala ko, so kailangan kong maghunus-dili sa pagbili. (Easy Gen, baka sabihin nilang lukaret ka.*Must compose self!*)

1st stop: Pasilio D-31 Tabora. Bumili ng Tulle na gagamitin ko to make Bea's Tutu skirt. (I'll blog about it some other time.)

G 28-30, 1st floor

Pagpasok ko sa 1st floor ng New Divi Mall, may na-spot kagad ako na gusto kong bilin. Non-woven bags! I will use them for Bea's lootbags. (Note: Non-woven bags are like eco bags we often see in department stores or groceries) Dito ako nakabili ng non-woven, non-expandable bags for P8 each. Amf! Kala ko nakamura ako dito. Ang ganda kasi ng color (aqua blue and lavender) kaya bili naman ako kagad. Too bad they don't have the green that I like.

Tip # 1: Don't be an impulsive buyer. Mapapmahal ka. Mag-canvas muna sa iba. Kung mas malayo sa entrance ang stall, mas mura, according to my observation.

Ayy, dito talaga nagsisi na ako, kasi dito ako nakabili ng non-woven, expandable bags for only P7 each.

Amf talaga! See the difference? Expandable to kaya mas marami malalagay, tapos mas mura pa. Mas makapal pa nga tela nito kesa dun sa una kong nabili eh. Gusto kong ibalik yung una kong nabili. Hai buhay.

Eto lang binili ko dun, dami kasi customers as in haba ng pila...

After I bought the game prizes, pumunta ako sa basement. Dun kasi daw maraming bubbles. (Bubbles again???) I will put it naman in the lootbags. Malapit lang ako sa may entrance bumili. Ang dami ko na kasing dala. Di na ko magkanda-dala-dala sa dami!

Ayun, nakabili ako ng bubbles, P45 for 12 pieces, bumili ako ng dalawang pack so P90. May whistle daw un pag hinipan. Hehe. Tapos bumili din ako ng clay, lootbag filler din. P30 for 6 pieces, bumili ako ng 4 na pack, P120.

Side kwento:
Sa sobrang saya ko mamili ng mamili, muntik na kong hindi naka-uwi! Leche. Di kasi ako nakapagtabi ng pera. Feeling ko kasi may pagka-Mary Poppins bag ung wallet ko, di nauubusan ng laman, dukot lang ng dukot. Pagtingin ko sa wallet ko, ay langya! Barya na lang pala laman. Buti na lang nagkasya pa para sa pamasahe ko sa pag-uwi. Kung hindi, goodluck sakin. It's either maglakad ako pauwi (Malayo-layo din lalakarin ko, baka gumagapang na ko pag dating ko sa bahay) or manglimos ako ng pamasahe (I doubt kung may manglimos sakin kasi hindi naman ako mukhang pulibi. Haha!) Sa awa ng Diyos, nakauwi naman ako, yun lang, mahilo-hilo na ako sa biyahe, di pa din kasi ako nakakain. Pamasahe nga muntik pa mawalan eh, pangkain pa kaya. Hai naku talaga, minsan nasisiyahan talaga ako sobra, lumilipad na ang utak ko.
Tip # 2: Magtabi ng pamasahe at pangkain ng hindi magaya sakin. ;)

It's a little over a month na lang, I'm so excited na for my little girl's birthday. Sana maging masaya ang bida! :)

The Fat Me

Nowadays, I often hear people say these comments to me:

"Gen, ang taba mo na..." (with matching kurot pa sa bilbil)

"Nananaba ka ah... Hiyang ah..."

"Grabe nilaki mo ah..."

And then they will give me a look as if they're saying WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!? GO ON A DIET!!!

or worse, YUCK, TABACHOY! on their minds...

Rewind... This is me before:

As you can see, I was so skinny then. Payatot kung payatot talaga. Pwedeng tangayin ng hangin. I can eat like a pig and still don't gain weight. I don't know why...

That was before I enter mommyhood. This is me now:

Hell yeah, I gained weight. I don't fit into my old jeans anymore. I have bilbil and flabby arms. But you know what? I DON'T CARE! :)

Frustration ko kasi tumaba dati. Ika nga nila, kung anung wala sa'yo, yun ang hinahanap mo. Diba nga I was so skinny, and no matter what I do, wa epek pa din. I even remember drinking fresh milk for weeks just to gain weight. That was hard for me kasi masuka-suka lang naman ako sa lasa ng gatas. (in the end, wala din nangyari) Tiniis ko talaga 'yon kasi nga gusto kong magpataba. 

So now, kahit na sabihan akong mataba, keber lang. 

I'm happy, I'm contented. I'm loving my body now. Pangarap ko'to! :)

As for those people giving those comments, eto lang ang masasabi ko: "Mind your own business!" Pak! 

Wow! Big deal? Big deal?!?

Anung gusto nyo? Maglaslas ako dahil lang tumaba ako, pwede ba??? It's not the end of the world for me kung tumaba ako. ANSAVEH?!? 

Me, going on a diet? Forget it! Wala akong balak magpakagutom. I looove eating. Sa lakas dumedede ni Bea, lagi akong gutom. Pag nag-diet ako, baka mag-faint nalang ako bigla. WIZ KO BET!

For me, it's a matter of accepting how things are meant to be. Confidence lang ang katapat nyan. Hindi po kabawasan sa pagkatao ang pagtaba.

The Happy Me

I've been reading Mommy Fleur's blog for quite sometime now. I stumbled upon her blog one time, and then naaddict na ko kababasa sa mga post nya. It is kinda my stress-reliever. I became a fan!

So, imagine my delight when I saw this on my e-mail.
Oh yeah! Mommy Fleur's gonna feauture my baby on her blog!!! I'm so happy!!!

Bea's First: Summer Outing

Hello there! Oh yeah, I'm still alive. I'm such a lousy blogger. I've been busy. Bea is so kulit na kasi nowadays, I can't keep up.

Okay, enough with the excuses. I got kwento! 

Last April 1, Bea got to experience her first summer outing ever! Let's start photoblogging, okay?

This is before we leave. See? Bea is so kulit!

 She doesn't want to be carried kaya ayan, naglililiyad, tumatakas. Gusto magpababa.

We left the house around 9am. Daddhie neh is late kasi. Tinanghali ng gising. Grabe! Ang layo! Naka-apat na sakay lang naman kami. Ngaragers ang beauty ko. LOL! At ayun, Bea fell asleep on our way there. Ang layo kasi.

At last!!! We arrived at Amana Waterpark around 12noon. Kala ko di na kami makakarating eh. Muntik pa kami naligaw...

Their rate for daytime swimming are P250 for adults, and P200 for children below 4 feet and seniors with ID. As for Bea, wala syang bayad. Haha! Perks of a cute baby. *wink*

Mommhie neh, my vest is too big for me! Remove it na!!!

 We bought that vest a few weeks before we went swimming. That time, when we fitted it to her, okay naman. I don't know why parang lumaki bigla. Amf! Tinanggal na lang namin, nalulusot lang ang bida eh.

 All the people in the wavepool are watching out for her, baka kasi madaganan. Ang kulit kas, sige lang ang swimming (gapang) nya. Kala mo kanya lang ang pool. LOL!

 We didn't stay in the pool for long. Takot ko lang ma-sunburn ang bida. But unfortunately, nangitim pa din sya. Huhuhuhu... We decided to leave before it gets dark, malayo pa kasi byahe.
